Bob Pittman has been named chief executive officer of Clear Channels parent company CC Media Holdings and will join the Board of Directors of CC Media Holdings and Clear Channel Communications, effective immediately. He also will join the board of directors of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings as its executive chairman, according to the company’s Sunday announcement. He replaces Mark Mays, who in June 2010 announced his intention to step down as CEO and who retains his role as chairman of the board at Clear Channel.

Washington, D.C. - The heads of U.S. companies are far more pessimistic about the future of the nation’s economy then they were earlier this year, according to the D.C.-based Business Roundtable’s third quarter CEO Economic Outlook Survey. The survey of 140 CEOs showed large drops in anticipated sales, capital expenditures and employment over the next six months.

The Ford Foundation Board of Trustees today announced the election of two new members, Martin Eakes and Tim Berners-Lee. “Martin is one of the most successful social entrepreneurs of his generation, having founded a series of national nonprofit organizations. Tim’s work in the early development of the World Wide Web makes him one of the great innovators of his generation. They have launched ideas and built institutions that have had enormous impact in the lives of people around the country and around the world,” said Luis Ubinas, president of the Ford Foundation. “Together they represent an extraordinary addition to the Ford Foundation’s board.”.
