ESPN Gets Its Weather from Earth Networks

Earth Networks, the Germantown-based owner of WeatherBug products and services, said it has signed a deal with ESPN to provide the cable sports network with live weather data from sports venues around the country. Through the agreement, ESPN will use WeatherBug’s real-time conditions, forecasts, alerts and breaking weather news during TV broadcasts, as well as through its website and Internet radio broadcasts. The service also will feature live shots from weather and camera stations placed at or near major sports facilities.
