New York - The management of video portal Hulu and its
corporate owners — NBC Universal (NYSE:GE), News Corp. (NYSE:NWS) and Disney (NYSE:DIS) — are reportedly at
odds over the current service, and contemplating a new "online cable
operator" business model, according to The Wall Street Journal. Networks
have complained that Hulu’s free, ad-supported service is draining ad revenue
from their own network websites, and News Corp. and Disney are considering
pulling some free content from Hulu — or else delaying availability until two

At their PSP2 launch event today, Sony did not only unveil the new device but also introduced “Playstation Suite”, a new cross-device game platform the company will use to bring Playstation 1 titles to Android phones and tablets (version 2.3 and up). In other words, Sony games will not exclusively be distributed to owners of the Playstation Phone that’s supposed to be officially announced next month.
Palo Alto, Calif. - Facebook on Wednesday launched
"Sponsored Stories," a new advertising format that culls mentions of
brands in users’ profiles, and repurposes them as Facebook ads. The ads could
comprise a user’s "Like" of a certain brand, or a post on the brand’s
Page, a check-in at a particular business, or actions within custom

New York - Shares of Demand Media (NYSE:DMD), an online publisher whose
sites attract over 100 million monthly visitors, were up over 35% in their
first day of trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The company said it raised
$151.3 million in its initial public offering. The company had initially
planned to price its shares at $14 to $16, but the offering was set at $17 per

As we’ve seen from the recent Quora wars, the Q&A space has come into its own in the last couple of months and this week we’re seeing reports of crazy growth in yet another contender, Q&A site Stack Overflow. A blog post called the “State of the Stack 2010 (a message from your CEO)” reveals that the StackOverflow.com site has grown 131% this year from 7 million to 16.6 million monthly unique visitors. Stack Overflow has also grown 129%in terms of page views from 31.8 million views per month to 72.8 million per month, according to Google Analytics.
New York - The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) is preparing to launch a
number of paid subscription offerings for its online content as early as next
month, The Wall Street Journal reported. One bundle that includes full online
access as well as an iPad application will reportedly be priced at around $20
per month, while Web-only access to all of NYTimes.com would cost "less
than half that," although The Journal’s source notes pricing "could
