Privacy Groups File FTC Complaint Over Changes to Facebook

- A coalition of consumer and privacy advocates has filed a complaint with the
Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over Facebook’s recent changes to its privacy
settings, arguing that consumers are now by default sharing more information
publicly than they were before the switch. The Electronic Privacy Information
Center (EPIC), along with the Center for Digital Democracy, American Library
Association and the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, were party to the complaint,
which argues that the "changes violate user expectations, diminish user privacy,

Report: Russia’s Digital Sky Increases Stake in Facebook

Calif.
- Russian investment firm Digital
Sky Technologies (DST) has reportedly purchased additional Facebook stock
pushing its stake in the company to over 5%, according to Russian newspaper
Kommersant, CNET reported. Earlier this year, DST invested $200 million in
Facebook for a 1.96% stake; the firm is acting as a "passive

Zynga Lands $180 Million Investment for Social Games

San Francisco - Zynga, a
publisher of social games including "Mafia Wars" and
"FarmVille," announced on Wednesday that it has received an
investment of $180 million, led by Russia’s Digital Sky Technologies. Founded
in 2007, San Francisco-based Zynga counts over 230 million monthly active users
for its games, which reside on Facebook and other sites. The company says more
than a million of its users purchase virtual goods within its games, generating
