Google is getting some major national exposure for both its AppEngine platform and Google Moderator, a simple tool that helps groups determine which questions should be asked at all hands meetings, conferences, Q&A sessions, etc. The White House is using Moderator, hosted on AppEngine, to determine which questions President Obama should answer at an online Town Hall meeting on Thursday.

- U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) on Tuesday introduced a bill that would give
struggling newspapers the option to operate as non-profits. Under his Newspaper
Revitalization Act, papers would be exempt from paying taxes on advertising and
subscription revenue, and readers would be able to make tax-deductible

Twitter has started to advertise a number of applications using the small box on profile pages that it first introduced earlier this month. Before today Twitter had reserved the space for links to its own services like Search, but now they are advertising a number of sites and apps, including Tweetie, a popular iPhone client.
